Vincent Vigorita, M.D.

Director of Orthopaedic Research


Dr. Vigorita is board certified by the American Board of Pathology. Dr. Vigorita has published over 80 articles in the peer-reviewed medical literature and is the sole author of the textbook “Orthopaedic Pathology”, currently in its 3rd edition. He is a member of the Orthopaedic Research Society, the International Skeletal Society and the American Association of Tissue Banks, and is a reviewer for the medical journals “Skeletal Radiology” and “Clinical Orthopaedics and Related Research”.

Dr. Vigorita earned his medical degree from New York Medical College and completed residency training in pathology at the Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore. He subsequently completed a fellowship at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center. He is a Professor of Pathology and Orthopaedic Surgery at the State University of New York Downstate Medical Center.

Dr. Vigorita is Chairman Emeritus of the Department of Pathology at Lutheran Medical Center and is Director of Orthopaedic Research for New York Downtown Orthopaedic Associates.
