Robert Meyerson, M.D.
Sports Medicine, Ligament Reconstruction of the Knee & Shoulder, Joint Replacement Surgery
Dr. Meyerson is board certified by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery in both Orthopedic Surgery and in Sports Medicine. He is a fellow of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons and past president of the Brooklyn Orthopedic Society. He currently serves as the Chief of Sports Medicine at New York Downtown Orthopaedic Associates. He also served as the orthopedic sports medicine coordinator for the Kingsbrook Jewish Medical Center Orthopaedic Surgical Residency program from 1991 – 2004 and has served as Chief of Orthopedic Surgery at The Brooklyn Hospital Center.
After receiving his Bachelor of Arts Degree from Columbia College, Dr. Meyerson earned his medical degree from the State University of New York at Downstate Medical Center. He then completed an internship in general surgery Downstate Medical Center/Kings County Hospital in Brooklyn. Dr. Meyerson completed his orthopaedic surgery residency at Kingsbrook Jewish Medical Center, and sports medicine fellowship at the Hospital for Joint Diseases-Orthopaedic Institute. He is an Assistant Clinical Professor of Orthopedic Surgery at New York Medical College.
Dr. Meyerson specializes in arthroscopic knee and shoulder ligament reconstruction, joint replacement surgery and shoulder as well as orthopaedic trauma.
